What preparations are made to create the ice rinks?
The crew performs multiple night-time floods, sometimes using a retro 40-year-old Zamboni, to build a smooth base layer before the event.
How are rinks maintained during the tournament?
Cracks get stuffed with snow slush, torched smooth by propane “turkey burners,” then reflooded; players pitch in between games with wide Manplow shovels. Teamwork keeps the surface playable even in a snow squall.
What size are the rinks and goals?
Rinks are approx. 67′ × 134′; goals are 6″ high slot boxes—no nets.

A first-aid station staffed by EMT volunteers operates during all game hours.
Do we play in heavy snow?
Yes, unless officials declare unsafe ice. Expect to shovel your lane before face-off.

Fighting, verbal abuse of officials, or ignoring honor-system penalties can lead to immediate removal. If you don’t know who the hothead is on your bench, it might be you—check yourself!
