Tournament Division Information

REGISTRATION

Registration is now open for the 2019 Maine Pond Hockey Classic. Click here to register.

New in 2019, our player rating system was developed to help teams play in divisions of similar playing ability. We expect that teams will not look at these ratings as a way to justify “sandbagging” in any form — that has no place in Pond Hockey or our tournament. If you think your team rating does not accurately reflect the playing ability of your team, please contact our tournament director for guidance. If you have to make roster changes please keep in mind how those might affect your division of play.

Please keep in mind this is our first year using this system, please consider it experimental and our best effort to provide a quality playing experience to all players.

JUST 4 FUN

The JUST 4 FUN Division is open to Men & Women 18 and older. You can have up to Eight players on a team, but only four players on the ice at a time. The JUST 4 FUN division pays homage to the game we we remember as young kids, as friends and neighbors, playing on the pond. Each team is guaranteed FOUR round-robin games, teams can elect to play their games at any of the schedule options listed below.
-1 game Friday Night, 2 games Saturday, 1 game Sunday
-2 games Saturday, 2 games Sunday

Games are played for 1 reason, to determine which team is the most FUN! Seriously, the only way to lose in the JUST 4 FUN division is to be a poor sport, DON'T BE ONE. Teams will play without scorekeepers, keep their own score, and monitor game play. Scores will be self reported, but since the games don't count, we really don't care if they get turned in... because it's all about having FUN... if you sign up for this division, you are in for making it a good time for yourself, and others.... that's it, simple FUN!
