When you live in a place where it's not uncommon for the temperature needle stay south of 32° for weeks on end, it only makes sense to take advantage of the these fine conditions. Sure, not many people welcome freezing temperatures, but "Mainers" tend to be optimists, so when mother nature gives us lemons, we make lemonade... FROZEN LEMONADE (And no, I am not referring to what happens to you can't find a toilet, so you opt for a snowbank). While there are a lot of great winter time activities to do in Maine, few come close to what pond hockey can offer. The crisp fresh air, fast paced hockey, and friendly competition make pond hockey an experience that should be enjoyed by everyone.
China, Maine proudly touts itself as "The friendliest town in Maine", making it the ideal location for the Maine Pond Hockey Classic. China Lake plays host to thousands of people pursuing outdoor recreation activites year round; from boating to ice fishing to POND HOCKEY and more, China Lake is a magnificent location to enjoy the outdoors.
As we moved toward our inaugural Maine Pond Hockey Classic, we hope to attract players from all over New England and Canada so that they can share this experience with us.
See you in 2013!
